Everything you need to set up and use TTR Desk

01 Installation

Windows

Download the .exe installer from the download page. Run the installer — it will place TTR Desk in your Applications folder and create a desktop shortcut. Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) required, approximately 72MB.

Tip: Windows SmartScreen may show a warning on first run because the app is new. Click "More info" → "Run anyway" to proceed. This is normal for unsigned builds.

macOS

Download the .dmg file from the download page. Open it and drag TTR Desk to your Applications folder. macOS 12+ required — works on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.

Tip: If macOS blocks the app, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway."

Android

Download the APK file (~5.8MB). You may need to enable "Install from unknown sources" in your device settings. The Android version is a lightweight companion app — the full overlay experience is desktop-only.

02 First Launch

On first launch, TTR Desk starts in overlay mode with the Cockpit panel visible. You can sign up or log in from the Cockpit panel, or use the app without an account — all 19 panels work offline.

Creating an account enables cloud sync (settings, layouts, and panel data backed up to the cloud) and is required for broker connections.

03 Panels Overview

TTR Desk includes 19 floating panels, all free on every plan. Open, close, resize, and drag panels anywhere on your screen — they remember their positions.

04 Overlay & Click-Through

TTR Desk renders as a transparent overlay at the OS level. It sits on top of every window — TradingView, your broker, your DOM — without covering your controls. When your cursor is not on a panel, clicks pass straight through to the app underneath.

Panels are individually draggable and resizable. You can set any panel's opacity from fully solid to nearly transparent. Right-click a panel's title bar for options like pin, minimize, or change opacity.

Performance: TTR Desk runs as a separate process. It does not inject into any application, does not modify your charts, and does not interfere with your broker. Typical resource use is under 1% CPU and approximately 100MB RAM.

05 Broker Connections

Futures (Free Tier)

Connect your Tradovate, AMP, Project X, or Rithmic accounts to sync balances and equity in real time. Go to the CockpitAccountsAdd Account and select your platform. You'll be redirected to your broker's OAuth page to authorize TTR Desk.

Balances auto-refresh every 60 seconds. P&L is tracked from the date you connect.

CFD (Pro — $2.99/mo)

The CFD plan adds live sync for MetaTrader MT4/MT5, CTrader, DXTrade, MatchTrader, and TradeLocker. Connect the same way via Cockpit → Accounts. One account included; additional accounts are $2.50/mo each.

Security: MetaTrader connections use read-only investor passwords — TTR Desk never has access to your trading password and cannot place or modify trades. CTrader connections use OAuth. All credentials are encrypted in transit and never stored in plain text.

06 Prop Tracker

The Prop Tracker is firm-agnostic — it works with FTMO, Apex, Earn2Trade, MyFundedFX, Topstep, or any other firm. Manually add accounts and log balances, payouts, and fees.

Open the Prop Tracker panel → click + Add Account. Enter the firm name, account size, and starting balance. Log entries as you go — the tracker calculates your net P&L, total payouts, and ROI across all accounts.

07 Bot Engine

The Bot Engine lets you set rule-based alerts and lockout conditions that run in the background. This is not automated trade execution — it monitors conditions and sends alerts to the overlay or Discord.

Open the Bot Engine panel → click + New Rule. Examples of rules you can build:

Rules run as long as TTR Desk is open, even if the Bot Engine panel is minimized.

08 Calculators

The Calculators panel includes four tools:

09 Discord Panel

The Discord panel connects directly to TTR Discord channels. You can read and send messages without leaving your charts. Channel selection, notifications, and mentions all work within the panel.

You must be a member of the TTR Discord server to use this feature. Link your Discord account in Cockpit → Settings → Discord.

10 Layouts & Multi-Monitor

Save your panel arrangement as a named layout. Switch between layouts instantly — useful if you have different setups for different sessions (scalping vs. swing, futures vs. forex).

Go to CockpitLayoutsSave Current to save. Panels remember which monitor they're on, so multi-monitor setups are fully supported.

11 Cloud Sync

When signed in, your settings, layouts, prop tracker data, notes, to-dos, and panel configurations sync to the cloud automatically. If you reinstall or switch machines, everything restores on login.

Cloud sync happens in the background every few minutes and on app close. You can trigger a manual sync from Cockpit → Settings → Sync Now.

13 Troubleshooting

App won't open

On Windows, right-click the installer and select "Run as administrator." On macOS, check System Settings → Privacy & Security for a blocked app notice and click "Open Anyway."

Overlay not showing

Make sure no other overlay software (e.g., GeForce Experience overlay) is conflicting. Try toggling the overlay off and on with Ctrl+Shift+D (Windows) or ⌘+Shift+D (macOS).

Broker won't connect

Ensure you're using the correct credentials for your broker. For MetaTrader, use the investor (read-only) password, not the trading password. For CTrader, make sure third-party app access is enabled in your cTrader settings.

Panels not saving position

Make sure you're signed in — panel positions are saved to the cloud. If using the app without an account, positions are saved locally and may reset on updates.

High CPU usage

This is rare. Try closing and reopening the app. If it persists, check how many panels are open — closing unused panels reduces resource use. Report persistent issues to support.
